WELCOME TO CLASSIC AVENUE RECORDING STUDIO
Classic Avenue was designed to provide a comfortable recording environment specializing in vintage equipment and recording techniques. We specialize in Reggae, Rock, Pop, Soul, R&B, Jazz and Hip Hop. We house a number of tape machines, mixing consoles, preamps, microphones and other devices that can be used in various combinations. The goal is to capture your music the way it’s supposed to sound.

OUR VISION
Whether it was Jazz in the 50s, Soul in the 60s, Rock in the 70s or Pop in the 80s, all music was recorded on magnetic tape before personal computers were even invented.
Today nearly all music is made digitally and as a result most recordings sound stiff, sterile and synthetic.
We decided to create a studio that specializes in old school analog tape recording.
Whether on 2 track, 4 track, 8 track, or 24 track, these machines are the key to making warm wonderful sounding recordings that last the test of time.

ABOUT US
House engineer Tim “Dub” Doyle is a two time Juno Award winner and longstanding Reggae producer. He has worked with a number of legendary musicians including Sly and Robbie and Freddie McGregor. When it comes to mixing, as a drummer and multi-instrumentalist he has a strong sense of what to play and where, what a mix requires and what to leave out.
Studio owner and producer Josh Goldman has won both a Juno Award and a Grammy Award in the field. An experienced guitarist, bassist, keyboardist, vocalist, songwriter and arranger, he specializes in many styles of music and has a keen sense of how to put a song together.
